Holy Sheep Shit! Miracles Happen!
I don’t friggin’ believe it!!!!
My agent called a few minutes ago!
She and the seller’s agent got together last night and talked it over a lot and spoke with the seller. The new deal is: the two agents take a mild cut in commission, I split the difference between our two prices with the seller, and the sale goes through!
The reason the agents are willing to take a cut is because a) they royally screwed up on the crap this past week and know it, and b) there is no mortgage on the sellers part or on mine, so its easy money for them, and c) the (sniff) other buyer could be forever selling their property.
I am (cautiously) very, very happy!
No porn now - too busy! Use yesterday’s site - there’s plenty there.

No pron today? What am I going to do for the rest of today?
May 16, 2008 at 9:50 am
But a cautious congratulations on your deal. Landed gentry indeed.
May 16, 2008 at 9:51 am
For you, Cranky - there will be porn!
- And thanks!
May 16, 2008 at 10:16 am
Excellent. I come over and not only get good news about your sale but I got the porn too.
Nice! I am hoping your good luck continues!

Thank you, Iron!
I’m expecting the docs to be faxed any time now. When I see the sellers signature on a contract I will breath easier.

WOO HOO! It’s a brand new day and the sun is shining, something good was bound to happen.
How do you feel about the price adjustment? Though it can’t be that much, yes?
May 16, 2008 at 10:38 am
The price adjustment was a few grand. Truth be told - it’s fair. It’s the difference between low-balling the seller (which I was doing) and a truly fair price. The property is a jewel, and is EXACTLY what I wanted all along.
(If I were rich I would have paid the original asking price no questions asked - its that nice a piece of property.)
Thank you, PnB! I liked your positive outlook when things were looking bleak!
Yes! - And the sun is out, supposedly for the next several days. This is a really good thing!
How’s the job thingy!
May 16, 2008 at 11:11 am
Celebrate.
May 16, 2008 at 11:26 am
Yep!
May 16, 2008 at 11:57 am
WHOOOOEEEEEE! Congratulations, McGoo!
Similar thing happened to us on Badger House. It was a real emotional rollercoaster for a few months. A few months? What’m I talking about. It still is.
Now I suppose we’ll get McGoo moving stories…? Or am I the only blogger self-indulgent enough for that crap?
May 16, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Yes! Thank you, Weasel!
I’ll be happier when I see the sellers sig on a contract, but I think it’s gonna happen.
Yeah, I’ll do moving stories, although after I get moved there may be a void until I work out the satellite/cable/whatever details. I think (dread) it’ll have to be satellite. Dial-up is out of the question: I think I’d rather go without.
But I need the Net. So if I go offline, it’ll be minimum.
Oh, I believe Badger House was tough: a 400+ year old structure has certain historical and cultural aspects to it that could really complicate things. And … I am under the impression it’s harder to buy property anyway in Jolly Ol’.

How’s the job thingy!
Well, the owners and some of their employees are very, very, down to earth and laid back. Very.
I want to keep an open mind and give it a shot since it would be a great little part time job (a couple of days) close to home. If I can manage it, arrange my hours to where I could still work another job in a more ‘professional’ atmosphere the rest of the time. At this point I don’t think my kid can get on there, not sure I want her to…though it is always good to observe and learn about your fellow mens/wimmins…in small doses for some….which means she can earn a little money from me helping out more around the house.
On the other hand, once the establishment grand opens and I find they continue to puff away in my presence (smoke gives me migraines) or back where the glorious bakery products are made (ew), or if the toothless ones bring too much trailer-drama, I would feel bad for having wasted the owner’s time training me at the expense of the stack of people who applied, by walking. I really do wish the woman well in her change of location and astronomical loan.

Is there a Denny’s nearby? Or Goths?
May 16, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Is there a Denny’s nearby? Or Goths?
Yeah, because with 40 acres of burial ground…er…pristine wildlife preserve, you’ll need to have an occasional Grand Slam breakfast with a side of Goth.

As a former smoker I sympathize with both positions - except that nowadays I can’t see anyone smoking indoors anywhere - even in ones’ own home. I didn’t the last decade of my habit. I smoked in the garage only, or outside.
Lord - even my white metal garage door got unbelievable tar stains on it.
It takes no time at all to totally stink up an enclosed space. Outside is best.
Cranky - no. No Denny’s within 60 miles (Cape Girardeau), so far as I know. But I have spotted Goths at both Micky-Ds in the area and one or two other establishments. This is gonna be an issue eventually.

Conditional congrats. Let us know when it’s all signed. Let me know when you need a couple goats!
May 16, 2008 at 5:28 pm
Goats! How could I have overlooked them?
…well, don’t I feel like a complete ass.
…and thank you! I think it’s gonna happen this time.
May 16, 2008 at 10:08 pm
Woo-hoo! Great news McGoo! I have a good feeling that this will work out for you. And you definitely need some goats. Oh wow - how cool would it be if you got some of those “fainting” goats?
May 16, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Now that’s an idea!
When people came to look at them I could come out - angry - screaming “What did you do to my goats?”
I have high hopes this time, Enas!
May 17, 2008 at 5:38 am
Cape Girardeau! Limbaughtown.
Fainting goats would be excellent. They’re a great way to work out frustrations.
May 17, 2008 at 10:34 am
Yeah - I could go out and yell at them to regain a sense of my own omnipotence!
Cape G - yes - origin of Rush Limbaugh and (I think) still residence of his brother, David.
There’s a shit-pile of land here and there that is in the name of a Limbaugh.
Cape is a pretty town, and has the only Cracker Barrel, Denny’s, Barnes & Noble, Borders, and Office Depot and decent medical care for roughly 100 miles, I believe.
May 17, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Went to school in Cape. Cheapest place to go back in the day. Went back a couple of years ago and the area surrounding the campus has not changed much.
May 17, 2008 at 2:37 pm
There was still some flood water in areas down there week before last. I could see it from Hwy 55 in the spill-over(?) area. I’m going down again Monday, so I’ll look again.
My Dad went to SEMS for a year or two when he was 16(!). His ‘memoirs’ indicate he thought it sucked - but because he was so young.
May 17, 2008 at 11:54 pm
It sort of did suck when you were dirt poor and about a good third to one half of your classes were a total waste of time and money. This is not saying that they didn’t or don’t have good programs.
May 18, 2008 at 6:26 am
I think that was his point, too.
…and he was dirt-poor. And because of his age (16) the other males picked on him, and he couldn’t get a date. I’d say he was a bit negatively biased.
May 20, 2008 at 1:14 pm
My goats ARE fainters. Funny little critters and they eat poison ivy!
