Cane Toad Toxicity: Can Obama Save Us?

This is a crocodile getting ready to chow-down on a cane frog. It will be his last meal - unless he catches a quick bite immediately after frog-dining.

See? I told you so.

The whole story is right here - at New Scientist - where they fire anyone not crispy-fresh as the morning dew.

And in other science news, NASA is going to launch a solar sail thingy! Yeah!

The story is here - at NASA Science News - where employees are required to wring out their brains each evening before retiring. Seems all the previous attempts have pretty much failed - due (do? Duh) to no fault of the sail-thingy. This is the one that counts, folks.

here is some porn. The Last Of The Few has a nice Bedtime Totty posted, too!

Sad thing, those cane toads. They should at this point be a lesson to environmentalists who presume to know what is best. They brought in a species to help with another and didn’t dot their x’s and cross their o’s or some sorry crap like that, and POOF, not only are the things decidedly poisonous but they are eaters of everything smaller than them. Waytogoshitforbrains!!!

I want to see that sail work in such a bad way. It’s not much force but the impulse is continuous. Can you tack into the wind in space? (the answer is no, unless I’m overlooking something important, but it’s still cool)

I don’t think you can actually tack against the solar wind, i.e. go upwind as in ocean sailing. No keel, or more accurately, no water for the keel to act against. I think I once saw a way to pseudo-tack using an accompanying mass and tether, but I’m not sure it works. No clue.

The best thing we can do for the environment is to feed it a regular diet of freshly ground up environmentalist. Spread lightly over the tundra and allowed to be sun-baked to a golden brown is my preference.

Main roads are humming with the cane toad blues,

…which is sorta why I said “no”, Goo.

Cane toads are coming, repeated endlessly reminds me of Bart Simpson… “Can’t sleep, clowns will eat me…”

    Love that quote.

Sorry for being vague - I was agreeing with you.

I was never into The Simpsons, but I really like that line. I think I’ll use it someday.
