‘Cause the fluid inside the sideways-U shaped tube only goes half-way ’round, I guess.

..And I hate the name “peristaltic”. It reeks of Latin or sumpin. They should have called it the “squishy-pump”.

Thanks, Weaz! I’m doin’ it, but I’m not liking it. Mostly its all those “am I gonna need this before I move” considerations that’re getting to me. I’m about to swing into a serious “throw it away” mode.

I am sympathetic towards you, Weaz. I didn’t have to sell a home before moving; I just had to find my “final resting place”. This house was Moms and reverts to my Sis (who’s been most patient) when I vacate - thank god. I wouldn’t want to be selling right now. Sorry, M’lady.

I think the overwhelming probability is that the next Tunguska event would hit ocean. It coulda happened before. An airburst over mid-ocean wouldn’t even raise a decent tidal wave, probably. No telling how many times it’s happened in the past, since no evidence would be preserved.

I swing between hoping the Tunguska event was the Space Aliens fucking with us again (’cause we’re so fun to fuck with), and being an early example of Russian atomic research - and the inevitable screw-up.

Speaking of burning - I have two 5-foot tall file cabinets full of financial records that are expired or rapidly “expiring” i.e. old enough that the IRS no longer requires me to keep them. Rather than laboriously shredding them as I have done in the past (I’m a little remiss right now) I can have the movers move them and bonfire ‘em this Fall!
